June 23/24 – 30th Annual Art Show and Sale…Celebrating Three Decades of Art

APAC is pleased to announce its 30th Annual Art Show and Sale, June 23/24.  APAC’s “premiere” event, it’s featuring over 52 artists from the Tri-State area, Maryland and New York.  Only the artists’ original work will be exhibited and sold.  Artists’ works will be judged in several categories; oil, acrylic, watercolor, works on paper/mixed media and photography. June 9 is the deadline for artists to still enter the show.  Opening Night Preview Reception is Friday, June 23, 6:00 – 9:00pm.   Light food and beverages will be provided.  The show continues Saturday, June 24, 10:00am to 4:00 pm.  

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, APAC will feature a number of changes to the show.  Adding the category of sculpture, moving the show to a larger facility; the Avalon Elementary School, an art workshop, for ages 6 and up, to be enjoyed by the entire family.  The show will also feature an “Emerging Artist” category for High School students, juried separately.  The art auction, in its 3rd year, will be held both days.  Admission is free.  Donations are accepted.  

Judging and awards will be announced by 12:00 pm.  Best in Show carries a cash award of $500, first place $200, second place $150, and third place $100.  The Best in Show in the “emerging artists” category carries a cash award of $100, and will be announced during the show.

Avalon Free Public Library Annual Open House

June 24, 10:00 – 1:00 PM

Children and adults alike will enjoy breakfast and fun activities including face painting, balloons, and even a special story time at 10:30 a.m. Learn more about free library services and watch demonstrations of fun and engaging library programs. Ongoing crafts and giveaways will be held in the library as well as video games and movies for all to enjoy. Join us in “Kicking Off” the Library’s Summer Reading Program! The Open House is free and open to the public so be sure to stop by and Check It Out!
